The Hub Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations, resource management, and student-tutor engagement within the hub. They will foster a supportive, professional, and inspiring environment to ensure effective training and skills development, community building, and personal growth for all participants.

About era92 Elevate

era92 Elevate is dedicated to training and empowering young people in the tech and digital space. We aim to improve education and combat youth unemployment by providing valuable skills and opportunities for young people in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Attendance Management
  • Track and maintain accurate records of student and tutor attendance.
  • Ensure proper delivery of learning objectives by monitoring participation.
2. Milestone Development
  • Set clear milestones for training achievements.
  • Ensure these milestones are achieved as planned through effective management and support.
3. Guidance and Mentorship
  • Identify and address challenges faced by students to reduce class absences.
  • Provide personalized guidance and mentorship to students as needed.
4. Recruitment and Awareness
  • Promote the hub’s programs within the community to raise awareness.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of students into the programs.
5. Resource Management
  • Oversee the availability and maintenance of equipment and resources for students and tutors.
  • Ensure the hub provides a conducive learning environment.
6. Event Planning and Management
  • Organize, plan, and budget for events within the hub.
  • Ensure active student and tutor participation during events.
7. Security and Safety
  • Secure the hub by ensuring all equipment is safely stored and the facility is locked after sessions.
  • Prevent theft and minimize damage to resources and equipment.
8. Student Exposure and Networking
  • Coordinate professional exposure tours for students every two months.
  • Introduce students to real-world professional environments and career opportunities.
9. Co-curricular Activities
  • Plan and implement weekly co-curricular activities to foster collaboration, engagement, and relationship-building among students and tutors.
10. Public Speaking and Branding
  • Train students weekly on public speaking, self-branding, presentation skills, portfolio building, and interview preparation.
11. Workshops and Bootcamps
  • Organize regular workshops and bootcamps to provide students with additional skills and industry-relevant knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in management or any other field relevant to the role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in mentorship, training, or community engagement is an advantage.
  • Ability to plan, manage budgets, and organize events effectively.
  • Knowledge of resource and facility management.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for building community spirit and student engagement.
